According to the 2021 Census, Gosport borough has 35,922 households. Terraced houses are the most common type at 35.1%, followed by semi-detached houses (27.5%), purpose-built flats (20.4%) and detached houses (13.4%).
Terraced houses
With neighbours on both sides, a terraced house loses less heat through its walls than a detached home of the same size, which suits a heat pump. Planning: Gosport Borough Council
Planning decisions across the borough, Lee-on-the-Solent included, are made by Gosport Borough Council. On most houses, an air source heat pump is permitted development and needs no planning application.
