Customer’s objective: Design and install an energy generation system to decrease the amount of electricity they import from the grid, while also reducing their carbon footprint.
DKW Engineering in Portsmouth, Hampshire wanted to explore ways of reducing their electricity bills through Solar PV. After surveying their engineering facility, we proposed a system that reduced their need for imported grid energy by 11.0% and decreased their carbon footprint by 33.7 tons of CO2 a year.
The 162 solar panels we installed generate over 56,000 kWh of electricity per year.
As there was some shading on the roofs caused by nearby trees, we recommended advanced power optimiser technology from SolarEdge, a world leading manufacturer of smarter energy solutions. Theses optimisers make each panel’s power output independent of all the others in the array, thereby minimising the effects of shading.
The SolarEdge system also provides state-of-the-art monitoring, allowing DKW Engineering to see the performance of every panel in real-time. Thanks to Infinity Energy’s help and installation , DKW Engineering are now able to manufacture their customer’s required parts using renewable energy.
