How solar battery storage works

A typical set-up would include solar panels, an inverter and a meter for measuring the battery charge.

Charged from you solar panels

Your solar panels convert sunlight into electricity and charge the solar battery as well as powering your home during the day. At night, when solar generation is less, it will then automatically use your free stored electricity rather than drawing from the grid.

Converted into free usable electricity

All Powerwall installations require a compatible inverter such as a SolarEdge inverter to convert electricity from your solar panels and Powerwall into usable electricity.
